Amos Sadler

PIKEVILLE, TN - Amos Sadler, age 86, of Pikeville, passed away Friday, December 20, 2024, at his home with his loving family by his side. 

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, December 23, 2024, at Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Stanley Norman officiating. Interment will follow in Cobb Suncrest Memorial Garden. 

The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45 PM at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Casketbearers will be Steve and Joe Lawson, Steven Bryant, Chase Giddens, Hunter Apperson, and Ricky Sloan.

Amos was a member of First Baptist Church in Pikeville and also Pine Grove Baptist Church in Moultrie, Georgia. He was a Barber in Georgia and Tennessee and had worked in factories and farmed in Kentucky. In his pastime he enjoyed farming, riding horses, loved working in wood, and being with his family. Amos was the last surviving of twenty-two siblings having outlived all who came before him. He had thirteen half brothers and sisters by his father, Thomas Bart Sadler’s first marriage. He had nine brothers and sisters from his father’s second marriage with him being tenth by his mother Rhoda Idela Matthews. He was the twenty-third child of both marriages. Pat will be staying with her sister during this time in Moultrie, Ga.

Amos is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Bart and Rhoda Idela Matthews Sadler; son, Thomas Bryan Sadler; and daughter, Rhoda Ann Moore.

Left behind to cherish Amos’s memory is his loving wife of sixty-six years, Patsy Lawson Sadler; three granddaughters, Heather (Steven) Bryant, Colquitt, Co., Samantha Apperson, Philadelphia, Miss., Amanda Moore (Brandon) Ginn, Vanceburg, Ky.; six great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
