Anita Jane Blasingame

SUWANEE, GA - Anita Jane Blasingame, age 91, originally of Tifton, Ga, died in Suwanee, GA surrounded by her loving family.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Westview Cemetery in Moultrie, GA. The family will visit with friends after the service. 

 Born in Moultrie, Georgia, she graduated from Colquitt County High School and then pursued a degree in education at Valdosta State College (Now University) in 1955. She married Guy Blasingame in June of 1955 and taught school for 10 years until she adopted her daughter, Lynn, in 1968. Jane was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who lived a full and vibrant life. She found joy in playing golf and traveling, passions that took her to many wonderful places and created cherished memories with family and friends. Jane was a devoted member of First United Methodist Church of Tifton, Georgia, where she nurtured her faith and built lasting relationships.

Her life was filled with love, laughter, and a deep appreciation for the people and experiences that shaped her journey. Jane will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

 She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Guy Blasingame, with whom she was married to for over 60 years. 

 Jane is survived by her loving daughter, Lynn Blasingame LaPlante and her spouse, Mike LaPlante of Suwanee, GA.

Jane was the proud grandmother of Mary-Margaret LaPlante of Columbia, SC; Madelyn LaPlante Watson and her spouse, Chandler Watson of Boston, MA; and Morgan LaPlante Waters and her spouse, Rylan Waters of Fuquay Verina, NC.
