DOERUN, GA – Wynonia Anne Jones Strickland, 67, of Doerun, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the Willson Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jamie Baggett and Mr. Derek Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Mount Sinai Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
Casketbearers will be Thomas Johnson, Kayden Johnson, Charlie Ward, Seth Brady, Chip Williams and Caleb Martin. Larry Brady will serve as an honorary casketbearer.
Born October 9, 1957, in Moultrie, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Robert Thomas Jones and Margaret Lula Croy Jones. Mrs. Anne retired from Colquitt Regional Medical Center as a patient account representative. She was a kind, loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly. Mrs. Anne was a godly woman who read her Bible and said her prayers. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing word searches and puzzles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Mayon Strickland; son, Roger Paul Johnson.
Survivors include her son, Derek Taft Johnson and fiancée Kimberly; stepdaughter, Debra L. Adams and husband Jamie; grandchildren, Katelin Martin and husband Caleb, Thomas Johnson, Kayden Johnson, Faith Jones, Jay Jones, Christina Viggianno, Catie Freeman; great-grandchildren, Bennett Martin, Brayden Small, Mason Redhead; siblings, Ellen Giles and husband Terry, Sue Jones, Kathy Brady and husband Larry; special friend, Gene Newton; several nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Breast Cancer Association.
