Anthony “Tony” David McCoy, 48, of Berlin, died Thursday, September 3, 2020.
Funeral service will be held 3:00PM Sunday, September 6, 2020 at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Josh Myrick and the Rev. David Denis officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Calvary Baptist Church. Social distancing guidelines will be followed, and masks are recommended.
Casketbearers will be Michael Gains, Timothy Weathers, Caleb Davis, Philip Brinson, Ben Rodriguez, Chris Croom and Curtis Akridge. Honorary casketbearers will be members of the Quitman Police Dept, First Responders, Berlin Volunteer Fire Department, and the Berlin Police Department.
Born April 24, 1972 in Hahira, GA, he was the son of Billie Faye Glenn McCoy of Moultrie and the late George “Bill” William McCoy. Tony was a police officer with the Quitman Police Department, a volunteer with Berlin Fire Department and a former paramedic. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Edith and Bobby Croft.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Vicki McCoy of Berlin; children, Eric Hendrixson of Berlin, Paige Shaw and Terry of Norman Park; grandson, Ethan Shaw of Norman Park; sisters, Selina Sauls and Tim of Albany, Jessica Hancock and Wally, Rhonda Deas and Marc all of Moultrie; brother and sister-in-law, Cheryl and Farrell Croft of Doerun; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles and the Calvary Church family.
