Anton (Tony) Huber II, age 93, died peacefully in his sleep on Friday, November 20th, 2020, surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held graveside at Westview Cemetery in Moultrie, Georgia, on Monday, November 23rd @ 2:00 p.m.
Mr. Huber was born on August 4, 1927, and was raised in Moultrie by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Huber. Mr. Huber graduated from Moultrie High School in 1944. He grew up with his childhood sweetheart, Marilyn Blasingame Huber, whom he married on October 30th, 1948. Mr. Huber served in the Navy and the Army Reserve. When completing his service, he returned to Athens where he majored in Agriculture at the University of Georgia. From that day forward, Mr. Huber has remained a loyal fan and alumni of the University of Georgia, as well as the Beta-Lambda Chapter of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity at UGA. Mr. Huber’s agriculture days ended when his father passed away, and he assumed the role of President of Anton Huber Company. Anton Huber Company is responsible for many of the designs and buildings of historical downtown Moultrie, offices such as Colonial Village, and many beautiful homes in Moultrie. Mr. Huber and his family, including his parents, were charter members of Trinity Baptist Church, where he was an active member and deacon for many years. Mr. Huber was an avid outdoorsman and loved to ride horses. He showed Tennessee Walking Horses throughout his life, and when not in the show ring, he could be found in the woods judging and enjoying field trials. He was a founding member of the Georgia-Florida Invitational Field Trial Club. He continued to ride until the last year of his life.
Mr. Huber is survived by a large family including Marilyn Blasingame Huber; his daughter Kathleen Elizabeth (Kathy) and husband John Everett; son Anton Huber III (T) and wife Mary Beth; daughter Sally and husband Ozzie Hutson; daughter Mary Lyn( Missy); grandchildren: Anton Huber IV (Tanner), Tindall Huber Forrester (Ken), Anna Wells Huber Nesbit (Emory), Catlin Huber Everett (Keely), Addie Hutson Hare (Max), Lauren Hutson, Sally Elizabeth Briggs, and Mark Wheeler Briggs, Jr.; 10 great-grandchildren; nieces, Martha Beard Payne, Barbara Beard, Elizabeth Daniel Clark, Polly Daniel Parker; nephews, Walter Daniel, Whit Daniel, and John Daniel.
Mr. Huber was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Huber; sister, Mary Huber Beard and her husband John Beard; aunts, Kathleen Huber, Allie Belle Huber Hammond; nephew, John Franklin Beard, Jr.
