Barbara Hamilton Mims

CAMILLA, GA- Barbara Ann Hamilton Mims, aged 79, formerly of Hartsfield, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2024, in Camilla, Georgia. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 14, 2024, at Hartsfield Baptist Church with Reverend Jackie Cabaniss officiating.  Interment will follow in the Hartsfield Cemetery. 

Born on September 5, 1944, in Tifton, Barbara's life was a testament to the love, mercy and grace of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Barbara was a beautician in the Hartsfield community and a member of Hartsfield Baptist Church. She loved tending to her flower garden and especially enjoyed family trips to Steinhatchee, Florida. 

Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband Melvin Mims; her parents, William (Sug) Hamilton and Ola Mae James Hamilton; brother, Larry Hamilton; sisters Jean Hamilton, Bonnie Selph, Debbie Kent, Sandra Clark, and Donna Hamilton. 

She was the mother of Vance (Haley) Mims and Tonya (Matt) Bryan and grandmother to Rebekah, Jacob, John, and Ally, who were the lights of her life.   Besides her children and grandchildren, she is survived by her sisters Becky (Carol) Craven, Carolyn (Donnie) Delaney, Kristy Friar, Mary (Gary) Hamm, and Linda May, and many nieces and nephews.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hartsfield Baptist Church.
