Betty Jean Lairsey Plymel

Betty Jean Lairsey Plymel, 86, of Moultrie, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Robert McCoy officiating.  Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memory Gardens.

The family will greet friends from 12:30-1:45 PM Saturday at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Casketbearers will be her nephews and grandsons, Chris Riggs, Tommy Morrison, Mike Davis, Stephen Plymel, Randy Brown, Aden Brown, and Kenny Brown.  Honorary casketbearers will be her nieces, Darlene Morrison, Judy Davis, Dawn Toutant and Cindy Tillo.

Born August 18, 1935, in Moultrie, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Wesley Lairsey and Myrtice Owens Lairsey.  Mrs. Plymel was a 1953 graduate of Moultrie High School.  She retired from Olan Mills as a district sales leader and was a member of Autreyville Baptist Church.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Eugene Plymel; sister, Verdie Daniels.

Survivors include her children, Roger Plymel and wife Beverly of Douglasville, Craig Eugene Plymel of Moultrie; grandchildren, Stephen Plymel and wife Stephanie, Cynthia Jimmerson, Caresse Nicole Plymel, Randy Brown and wife Jennifer, Kenny Brown and wife Brittany; great-grandchildren, Bailey, Brooke, and Parker Plymel, Olivia and Ariana Roma; sisters, Shirley Davis, Helen Suggs and husband Allen; several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
