Betty Shiver Jordan

June 3, 1933 — October 19, 2020

            Betty Jean Shiver Jordan, 87, of Moultrie, died Monday, October 19, 2020, at her residence.

            The graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 24, 2020, at Rose of Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Charlie Tucker officiating.   

            Born June 3, 1933, in Colquitt County, she was the daughter of the late Johnnie M. Shiver and Jewell C. O’Neal Shiver.  She was a member of Rose of Sharon Baptist Church and was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was a homemaker who loved her family, savoring time with her grandchildren.  She enjoyed fishing, feeding deer, gardening, and avidly cheering on the Atlanta Braves.  Through the years she was a loving daycare provider for many children.  Mrs. Jordan put others first in everything she did. 

            In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Eddie Jordan, Sr.; son, James Eddie Jordan, Jr.; sisters, Juanita Frassrand and Christine Chitty; brothers, Alton Shiver, Alvin Shiver, and Billy Joe Shiver. 

            Survivors include her children, William Toney Jordan of Moultrie, Cheryl Jordan Williford and husband Walter of Coolidge, Deidre Jordan Hurley and husband Houston “Scooter” of Norman Park; grandchildren, Christian Buckley Jordan and significant other Renee, Walter Lynwood Williford, III and wife Danielle, Heather Felicia Harrison and husband James T., Jordee Dale Williford and wife Ashley, Jordana Williford Tanner and husband Dr. Marshall Tanner; great-grandchildren Will, Gavin, and Karlee Williford, Mary Madison, Ava James Harrison, Lynwood and Rhett Williford, Rusty, Riley, and Reagan Davis, and Tommy Tanner; sister, Carolyn Nazworth of Crawfordville, Fla; and brother, Johnnie Shiver, Jr. of Moultrie.
