Betty Sue Horton Knight, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2024, in her hometown of Moultrie, Georgia. Born on January 29, 1943, Betty was a cherished member of her community and a dedicated professional who spent many years working as a teller and secretary for Moultrie National Bank.

Betty's life was marked by her unwavering faith and commitment to her church, Lakeside Assembly of God, where she was not only an active participant but also a devoted teacher of a Sunday school class for many years. Her love for music brought joy to those around her; she had a passion for singing and even taught herself to yodel, showcasing her vibrant spirit and zest for life. Betty was also known for her culinary skills, often delighting family and friends with her cooking.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Frankie Knight Jr., and their devoted children, Kathy Bennett and her husband Steve, and Keith Knight and his wife Lori. Betty’s legacy continues through her grandchildren, Brent Bennett and his wife Becky, Brian Bennett and his wife Casey Jo, Michael Knight and his wife Heather, and Heather Spieth and her husband Christian. The joy of being a great-grandmother was evident in her pride for her great-grandchildren: Zackery Grier, Kaitlyn Bennett, Owen Bennett, Nathan Bennett, Parker Bennett, Autumn Bennett, Corbin Knight, Kinsley Knight, Cheyenne Spieth, and Montana Spieth.

She is also survived by her sisters, Linda McCorvey and Ida Goble, along with several nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss her dearly.

Betty is predeceased by her father, Dock Fletcher Horton, and her mother, Vangelene Bennett Horton, both of whom played important roles in shaping her life.

Visitation for Betty Sue Knight will be held on October 28, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Cobb Funeral Chapel in Moultrie, Georgia, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.

Betty Sue Knight’s life was a testament to love, faith, and dedication to family and community. Her memory will continue to inspire all who had the privilege to know her.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
