Bobbie Louise Hancock Horne, 82, of Doerun, passed away on Friday, November 5, 2021, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at Pine Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Stanley Norman and Reverend Jimmy Hiers officiating. The service will conclude in the church. Interment will be in Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 10-10:45 AM Tuesday at the Church.
Honorary casketbearers will include the Pine Grove Baptist Church Sunday School Class and the Deacons of the church.
Born July 28, 1939, in Moultrie, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Aldine Hancock and Edna Arline Gunn Hancock. Mrs. Horne was the secretary for the District Attorney for the Southern Judicial Circuit before retiring. She was a talented pianist and was a current member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. She loved her family and was famous for green tomato pickles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Cameron Horne; brothers, Jerry Hancock, Thomas Hancock, and her beloved furry friend, Pepi.
Survivors include her husband, Henry Preston Horne of Doerun; children, Ken Horne and wife Ericka of Moncks Corner, SC, Stephen Horne and wife Tonja of Moultrie, Judy Washington and husband Mack of Doerun; grandchildren, Ashlyn Mullen and husband T.C., Shelby Horne and Dalton Horne; five great-grandchildren; brother, Wayne Hancock and wife Brenda of Moultrie; sister-in-law, Julie Hancock of Moultrie; several nieces, nephews, and other family members.
