Bobby Leon Gay

MOULTRIE, GA – Bobby Leon Gay, 79, of Moultrie, passed away Monday, May 29, 2023, at Brownwood Nursing Home. Funeral services, with military honors, will be held at 2:00PM Sunday, June 4, 2023, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Shannon Partain officiating. Interment will be in Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45 PM Sunday at Cobb Funeral Chapel. Born August 29, 1943, in Moultrie, Georgia, he was the son of the late Earl B. Gay and Juanita Folsom Gay. Bobby was a welder at Swift and Company and retired from Maule Aircraft as a punch press operator. He loved the Lord, worshiping and singing and was an active member of the Christian Crusade Church. Bobby enjoyed competing in bass fishing tournaments and was an avid Georgia Football fan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles R. “Ronnie” Gay. Survivors include his wife, Toye Milam Gay of Moultrie; children, Stacy Roberts, Leslie Newsom and husband Johnny of Perrin, all of Perrin, TX, Kim Hicks and husband Danny, Ricky Stanaland all of Moultrie; grandchildren, Aaron Roberts and wife Cheyenne, Logan Roberts and wife Katlyn, Cameron Roberts, Megan Aparicio and husband Marco, Wes Guinn and wife Kamie, Sean Guinn and wife Chloe, Jo DeLoach, Samantha Hicks; numerous great-grandchildren; siblings, Greg Gay and wife Barbara of North Port, FL, William Earl “Billy” Gay and wife Shirley of Moultrie, Amy G. Boyett and husband Steve of Sylvester, GA; special friend, David Maule; several other extended family members and friends. Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
