Bonnie Striplin Tucker

December 1, 1924 — February 5, 2023

MOULTRIE, GA- Bonnie Striplin Tucker, 98, of Moultrie, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at Magnolia Manor.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, February 10, 2023, at First Presbyterian Church of Moultrie with Reverend Dr. Brad Walker and the Reverend Dr. Hugh Ward officiating.   

The family will greet friends after the service in the church’s social hall.  

Casketbearers will be Shaw Montgomery, Len Robbins, Charner Rouse, Will Cagle, David Staniszewski and Darryl Taunton.

Born December 1, 1924, in Moultrie, she was the daughter of Pleasant Boyd Striplin and Effie Ollie Nelson Striplin.   Growing up in the New Elm district of Moultrie, she graduated from High School in 1940.  Miss Bonnie, better known as “Mee Mee” by family and friends, was crowned Miss USO during WW II at Spence Field Airbase.  There she met a young Marine named Lynwood Tucker.   They married in 1945 and he became the love of her life.  Bonnie and Lynwood co-founded Landmark Realty in 1979, which served Colquitt County.  Mee Mee’s accomplishments as a successful realtor includes numerous years in the Million Dollar Club, serving as a member, Executive Officer, and Past President of the Moultrie Board of Realtors as well as State Director for Georgia Association of Realtors.  She was also recognized as the Realtor of Year.  Her favorite realtor event was the Christmas party at the Sunset Country Club which she coordinated for many years.  Landmark Realty sold to Diane and Mike Parten after Lynwood’s death, where Bonnie served as an associate broker until she retired at 95 years young.   Bonnie and Lynwood were members of First Baptist Church of Moultrie, while raising their two daughters.  After Lynwood’s death she began attending First Presbyterian Church in Moultrie. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lynwood R. Tucker; a daughter, Lynda Tucker Geldon; sisters, Ruby S. Upton, Dorothy S. Wise and Kay S. Carter and a special great grandson, Jonathan Garrett Edwards.

Survivors include her daughter, Debbie Tucker Cagle and husband W. Thomas of Moultrie; grandchildren, Angel Lightsey Hobby, Beverly Cagle Montgomery and husband Shaw, Jenny Lightsey Robbins and husband Len, Charner Rouse II and fiancée Crystal, Anna Cagle Taunton and husband Darryl, William E. Cagle II and wife Rachel, Grace Cagle Staniszewski and husband David; 22 great-grandchildren; and a number of special nieces, nephews and extended family members.

The family request, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 501 1st ST. SE. Moultrie, GA. 31768.
