MEIGS, GA- Brim Redmond White, Sr., 69, of Meigs, died Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Mitchell County Hospital in Camilla.
A memorial service will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at New Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Dion Brown and the Rev. John McComas and officiating. Inurnment will follow in New Bethel Cemetery.
Born August 27, 1950 in Camilla, he was the son of the late Bernice White and Eteva Redmond White. Mr. White formerly owned and operated Meigs Beer and Package for twenty years. He then served as a Correctional Officer at the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Department and Autry State Prison. He attended New Bethel Baptist Church. Brim was an avid deer hunter and loved to fish. He was a good old country boy with a heart of gold.
He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Amy White; four brothers, Don White, Phil White, Ricky White and Kleman White; two sisters, Judy Rosser and Jan Harrell.
Survivors include his wife, Dianne Hatcher White of Meigs; two sons, Brim R. “Lije” White, Jr. and wife Kelly of Lakeland, Fla. and Channing Cain of Phenix City, Al.; two daughters, Cindy Dykes of Adel and Tonya Atkinson of Pelham; two brothers, O.B. White and wife Pam and Eddie White and wife Jan, all of Thomasville; three sisters, Patricia Singletary, Sandra Braswell and Vicky McDaniels, all of Thomasville; twelve grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service at New Bethel Baptist Church.
