Carl Oscar Morgan

MOULTRIE, GA – Carol Oscar Morgan, 82, of Moultrie, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 19, 2024. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Herman Hampton officiating. Interment will follow in Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens. 

The family will receive friends from 10:00-10:45 AM Saturday at Cobb Funeral Chapel. 

Casketbearers will be Jonathan Morgan, Joshua Morgan, Jamie Morgan, Glen Annis, Allen Morgan, Jr., and Edward Gibson. 

Born October 27, 1942, in Wauchula, Florida, he was the son of the late Rupert Franklin Morgan and Eloise Hawkins Morgan. Carl was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose life was defined by his steadfast love, quiet strength, and dedication to those he held dear. He spent much of his career working in construction at Archbold Hospital, a job he approached with pride and commitment. Retiring in January 2006, he left behind a lasting legacy of craftsmanship and hard work that still resonates with those who knew him. Carl will be deeply missed by all. His kindness, humor, and love will continue to inspire and comfort those fortunate enough to have shared in his life. 

Family was at the heart of Carl’s life. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Janie Lois Morgan, his eldest son, Carl Allen Morgan and his late daughter-in-law, Charlotte L. Morgan, his youngest son, Mark A. Morgan and wife Bryna H. Morgan, his daughter in law, Kimber L. Morgan, who was married to his late son, Donald Greg Morgan, and a sister, Dorothy Morgan Snodgrass. Carl was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren and a great-grandfather to five, all of whom brought him immense joy. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, David Morgan, William “Billy” Ray Morgan, Reverend Dr. Tommy Morgan, and his sister, Betty Sue Morgan Gaines.
