Carmen Ybarra, a beloved family man, passed away on October 5, 2024, in Moultrie, Georgia. Born on July 16, 1947, in Rio Hando, Texas, Carmen was a figure who embodied the spirit of hard work, creativity, and community.

Carmen built a fulfilling career as an engineer for Wells Aluminum, where he contributed his skills and knowledge to the industry. Outside of his professional life, he was known for his ability to fix anything as a handyman, demonstrating a talent for woodworking that showcased his creativity and craftsmanship. He had a passion for animals and enjoyed the tranquility of fishing. Carmen's outgoing nature made him a fixture in the lives of those around him; he had the remarkable ability to connect with everyone he met.

Carmen is survived by his children: Melissa Workman and her husband Freelan, Gloria Ybarra and her husband Alejandro, Joseph Ybarra and his wife Missy, and Justin Ybarra and his wife Summer. His legacy continues with his grandchildren: Tawny Reyes, Kristen Reyes and her husband Steven, Adriana Sanchez, Alejandra Sanchez, Alexis Ybarra and wife Amber, Alejandro Sanchez, Joseph Branch, Justin Branch, Josh Branch, Justin Ybarra Jr., and Jupiter Ybarra. Carmen also leaves behind sixteen great-grandchildren who will carry forward his memory.

He was the cherished brother of Ladislao Ybarra Jr., Jose Ybarra, Jesus Ybarra, and Guadalupe Ybarra, as well as a dear brother to sisters Paula Flores, Petra Cisnerio, Maria Ortiz, Jesusa Ybarra, Orila Ortiz, and Maria Connie Ybarra. Carmen's family was further enriched by numerous nieces and nephews, who will surely remember him fondly.

Carmen was preceded in death by his father, Ladislao Ybarra, and his mother, Maria Guadalupe Ybarra. He is also reunited with his beloved wife, Anna Lou (Hargraves) Ybarra, who passed before him.

Carmen Ybarra will be remembered not only for his professional achievements but also for the warmth and generosity he offered to his family and friends. His legacy of love, creativity, and community service will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude's Hospital.
