Carolyn Marie Williams Friedlander

Carolyn Marie Williams Friedlander, 90, of Moultrie, GA, passed away at her home on Sunday, September 12, 2021.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at Pinecrest Memory Gardens in Moultrie, Georgia with Dr. Rev. Richard Wright officiating, assisted by speaker Ellen Alderman. 

Born August 26, 1931, in Moultrie, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Charles Wesley Williams and Louise Cull Williams.  Mrs. Friedlander was an active member in her community, having become a Federated Club member at age 22.  She graciously served throughout her life in various capacities.  She was the past president of both Moultrie Jr. Woman’s Club and Moultrie Federated Guild.  Indicative of her wonderful leadership and great respect from her peers, she was selected as the Clubwoman of the Year in both organizations.  She also served as the Former District President, State 3^rd, 2^nd, and 1^st Vice-President, and served a two-year term as the President of Georgia Federation of Women’s Clubs.  She was a member of the Life Directors’ Club, formerly known as Georgia State Presidents.  She was the Chairman of Board of Trustees of Tallulah Falls School and was granted lifetime honorary membership of the board.  She was also a former member of the Moultrie Service League and a recipient of that organization’s service bowl.  In addition, she was a former member of the Board of Directors of the Moultrie YMCA and was a recipient of its “Member of the Year” award.  Not only was she active in service organizations, she served as a Jury Commissioner for seven years.  She was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church of Moultrie and also liked to attend the early service at Funston United Methodist Church.    

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard Franklin “Dick” Friedlander.

Survivors include her sons, Charles Dale Friedlander and wife Cheryl of Moultrie, Clinton Franklin Friedlander and wife Debbie of Moultrie; grandchildren, Charles Wesley Friedlander and wife Amy, Danielle Marie Hood and husband Jonathan, Clinton Cole Friedlander, Cason Wood Friedlander; greatgrandchildren, Gabriel Dale Hood, Finley Maria Friedlander, Isaac Henderson Hood; and sister, Nell Louise Brown of Moultrie.
