Carolyn Cobb Howell

DOERUN, GA- Carolyn Cobb Howell, 88, of Doerun, passed away Friday, January 21, 2022, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with Rev. Sammy Hiers officiating.  Interment will follow in Mt. Sinai Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends from 1-1:45 PM on Wednesday at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Born March 22, 1933, in Colquitt County, she was the daughter of the late Carl Minor Cobb and Doris Willis Cobb.  She was a homemaker and wonderful cook. As a long-time member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, she served in many positions that included working in Vacation Bible School, teaching Sunday School, and leading the choir. She enjoyed gardening, singing and was fondly known as a jack-of-all-trades.  Mrs. Carolyn was a strong willed, independent person who made things happen when she wanted them to happen.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, W.C. Howell; sons, Duane Howell, and Ronnie Howell; brothers, Jack Cobb and Carl Cobb.

Survivors include her daughter, Peggy Howell Bell and granddaughter, Jennifer Bell; special friend and caregiver, Tammy Toomer; daughter-in-law, Judy Howell; several beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a tree, flower, or shrub be planted in her memory, a contribution may be made to the Colquitt County Humane Society, 1412 1^st Street NE, Moultrie, GA 31768 or simply share your favorite memory of her with her family and others.
