Carolyn Elizabeth Summerlin Pyles

FORT VALLEY, GA – Carolyn Elizabeth Summerlin Pyles, 74, of Fort Valley, formerly of Moultrie, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Billy Wilkes officiating. Interment will follow in Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends and family from 1:00-1:45 PM Saturday at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Casketbearers will be Johnny Summerlin, Lavon Summerlin, Brandon Summerlin, Chris Summerlin, Michael Camell, and Dawson Sutton.

Born February 7, 1951, in Moultrie, Georgia, she was the daughter of late John Luther Summerlin, Jr. and Lottie Elizabeth Murphy Summerlin. Mrs. Carolyn was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family and held a special place in her heart for each of them. Her deep Christian faith was a guiding force throughout her life, she believed wholeheartedly in Jesus and lived by the Ten Commandments. She will be remembered for her warmth, her strength, and the love she gave so freely. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew her and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Arlie J. Summerlin and Therrell R. Summerlin.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 57 years, Ray Thomas Pyles; children, Ray L. Pyles, Ricky L. Pyles, Michelle E. Nelson; grandchildren, Erin E. Hicks and husband Dustin, Skyler R. Nelson, Ashley E. Nelson; great-grandchildren, Leianna G. Nelson, Ellison L. Hicks; brother, Gary L. Summerlin and wife Jan; sister, Gwendall D. Pifer; several other extended family members and friends.

Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
