MOULTRIE, GA. – Catalina Corona, 57, of Moultrie, passed away Monday, May 1, 2023, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 4, 2023, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with the Reverend Andy Cashwell officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45 PM Thursday at Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
Casketbearers will be Alexis Torralba, Christian Torralba, Demetrius Williams, Alexander Barajas, Jorge Robleo, Miguel Seancresan, Emanuel Vazquez, Jose E. Barajas, Luis M. Torralba, and Fabian G. Barajas.
Born November 30, 1965, in Pahokee, Florida, she was the daughter of the late Jose Guadalupe Corona and Mary Rios Corona. Mrs. Catalina was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother who loved her family, especially her grandchildren and enjoyed attending family gatherings. Mrs. Catalina had fun going to yard sales, fishing, cooking, dancing, and watching tv. She liked making floral arrangements, crafts, and crocheting. Mrs. Catalina will always be remembered as a fun-loving, compassionate woman who will always hold a special place in everyone’s heart.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Fabian Barajas; brother, Jessie Joe Corona.
Survivors include her husband, Jose Esparza Lopez of Moultrie; children, Raquel Fuentes and husband Henry, Eloiza Barajas of Moultrie, Jose F. Barajas of Atlanta, Lorena Barajas and Emanuel Vasquez of Moultrie, Maria C. Lopez Nogal and husband Juan; grandchildren, Jorge L. Robleo, Diamond Barajas, Dulcemaria Barajas, Alexander Barajas, Mia A. Lopez, Ledoini Zacarias Barajas, Nayeli R. Cruz, Francisco R. Reyes, Jose E. Barajas, Karina Barajas, Luis Torralba, Alexis Torralba, Cristian Torralba, Angel Torralba, Demetrius Williams, Fabian G. Barajas, Gabriel Barajas, and Damian Barajas; great-grandchildren, Elias A. Barajas, Ana J. Zacarias, Aiden Zacarias, Dylan M. Zacarias, Jubliee M. Zacarias, Yesly Trejo, Camila Trejo, Athena Barajas and Alonso Lozano; siblings, Oliva Gonzalez, Theresa Esparza, Trinidad Paniagua, Anita Corona, Sandra Corona, Graciela Corona Gonzalez, Gabriel Corona, Silvestre Corona, Carlos Corona and Jose “Jr.” Corona; canine companion, Terra.
