Charles Loy Mercer, 87, of Moultrie, died Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at his home.

A private memorial service will be held by the family.

          Born January 20, 1933 in Moultrie, he was the son of the late Brady E. Mercer and Lorene Page Mercer.  Mr. Mercer was the owner of Ga. Harvesting and was a member Midway Freewill Baptist.  His family remembers how he loved fishing, hunting and picking cotton.  He enjoyed collecting antiques, especially Coca-Cola memorabilia.

          In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Erwin Mercer; daughter, Elizabeth Mercer; grandson, Jeff Mercer; brothers, Paul Mercer, Blaine Mercer and Hoyt Mercer.

          Survivors include his wife, Anna Reitmaier Mercer of Moultrie; children, Brady Mercer and wife Lena, William Sutton and wife Heidi, Laurie Harper and husband Craig all of Moultrie, Anita Sutton of Watkinsville, Connie Jarrell, Charlene Mercer both of Moultrie; grandchildren, Charles “C” Mercer, Alana Mercer, Nathan Mercer, Anna Belle Sutton, Julie Rae Sutton, Dawson Sutton, Christy Thaggard and husband Austin, Nick Harper, Laci Jarrell, Hali Jarrell, Justin Mercer, Cheyenne Urban and husband Howie, Casey Bonner; three great-grandchildren.

          In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Colquitt Regional Hospice, PO Box 3548, Moultrie, Ga. 31776.
