Clara Mae Greene O'Neal

MOULTRIE, GA- Clara Mae Greene O’Neal, 80, of Moultrie, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2022, at Legacy Village. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Matt Peek officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Monday, July 11, 2022, at Cobb Funeral Chapel. Ms. Clara was born June 23, 1942, to Julius Stone Greene Sr. and Gussie Lee Carnes Greene in Doerun, Georgia. She was one of seven children, having four brothers and two sisters. During her childhood, she picked crops alongside her parents and siblings. Ms. O’Neal got married in 1959 and had two children, Tonita and husband Dale DeMott, and Monty O’Neal. She also has two granddaughters; Heather Celeste DeMott and Jessica Dayle Snipes; one great-granddaughter, Oaklyn Wrynn Snipes; siblings, Dorothy Jean Pearce and Johnny Lee Greene. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Julius S. Greene, Jr., William Tucker Greene, Julie Greene and Roy Greene. She worked for Proctor and Gamble beginning in 1973, where she was a forklift driver who loaded semi-trailers and railcars. She became a well-respected team leader at Proctor and Gamble before she retired in 1998 after 25 years of service. One of Ms. Clara’s favorite accomplishments was her extensive travel throughout the United States. She has also visited various European countries, Greece, and several Caribbean Islands with Italy being her favorite. She especially enjoyed going on cruises. Her passions have always included her family, pets, house, and yard. Her neighbors always remember her from seeing her doing yard work. Ms. O’Neal has also been a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Moultrie. Memorial contributions may be made to the Moultrie Humane Society, 1412 1st Street NE, Moultrie, GA 31768.
