Claudine McCrary Howell

SYLVESTER, GA – Claudine McCrary Howell, 87, of Doerun, passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at her residence.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 17, 2021, at Liberty Hill Baptist Cemetery with the Reverend Tim Henry and Chris Walden officiating. 

Born November 11, 1933, in Moultrie she was the daughter of the late Gilbert Jackson McCrary and Maggie Dupree McCrary.  She was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Doerun.  She was a faithful employee of the Doerun Branch of American Banking Company for 37 years.  Claudine loved taking care of her family, her granddaughter, and her great-grandsons. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Franklin Howell; son, Roger E. Howell; brother, James McCrary; and brother-in-law, Bob Barnard. 

Survivors include her son, David Howell and Rama Medders of Worth County; granddaughter, Jessica H. Walden and husband Chris of Covington, GA; great-grandsons, Luke Walden and Eddie Paul Walden; sisters, Reba Brooks and husband Bobby of Moultrie, Martha Barnard of Tallahassee, FL; brother, Ken McCrary and wife Jane of Albany, GA.

The family expresses gratitude to special caretakers, Cynthia Crawford, Christy Tucker, and Hospice Nurse Rebecca Hodnett.
