MOULTRIE, GA.- David James Hill, 77, of Moultrie, passed away Friday, January 10, 2025, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
A Memorial service with Military Honors will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with Reverend Matt Greene officiating. A private interment will follow.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
Born May 23, 1947, in Moultrie, he was the son of the late James Weldon Hill and Annie Catherine Wilkes Hill. Mr. Hill was a Veteran having served his country honorably in the United States Navy. He was very active in the American Legion. Mr. Hill was a talented architect who designed numerous institutional and commercial buildings in Moultrie and the surrounding area. He was active in the community, working on projects commemorating local history such as the Rails to Trails project and the Colquitt County Courthouse Restoration. Mr. Hill enjoyed playing music on the guitar and piano, supporting the arts, and sailing whenever he got a chance. He cherished his family above all things on earth and especially adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Hill loved the Lord and was a member of First Baptist Church Moultrie.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Rayburn “Buck” Hill; sister, Mary Smith; and nephew, Silas Hill.
Survivors include his beloved daughter, Kimberly “Kim” Greene and husband Matt; grandchildren, AnnaBrooke Greene and husband Aldo Abelleyra-Madrid, Aubrey Greene, and Robert “Bo” Greene; great-grandchildren, Archer Rodriguez and Ruby Lee Rodriguez; brothers, George Hill, Bill Hill and wife JoAnne; nieces, Angie Brooks and husband Bobby, Shanna Simmons and husband Trev, Jill Daniel and husband Chris, Lora Boatwright and husband Michael, Georgette Hood and husband Luke; along with numerous extended family members and friends.
Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
