David Richard McLemore

David Richard McLemore, 62, of Moultrie, passed away Friday, April 7, 2023, at his home.

Born October 25, 1960, in Moultrie, Georgia, he was the son of the late James Henry McLemore and Norma Louise Turner McLemore. David was a master welder and worked at Maule Aircraft and Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany. He was a Southern Baptist.

Fishing was David’s passion.  As a young boy he enjoyed memories of vacations with his mother and dad along the shores of Mexico Beach. After growing up and having a family, he loved going back in time with his brother and sister’s children.  David enjoyed time with his son and daughter while fishing at LeeAnn and Cory’s pond. Later in life, after his second attack of cancer, he found joy when his brother Terry who would take him fishing in Florida at the backyard pond at Joyce and Terry’s home.  David always loved the dinners he shared with Debbie and Alex and Ann’s letters of encouragement.  David gives thanks that his son-in-law Cory is a blessing to his LBB daughter LeeAnn and that Chris has Megan to lean on.

Survivors include son Christopher David McLemore and Megan of Mexico Beach; daughter, LeeAnn McLemore Lacey of Hartsfield; grandchildren, Henry McLemore and Jacob McLemore; siblings, Ann Scaggs and Don, Debbie Sutherland and Alex, Terry McLemore and Joyce.
