Donald Jerome Kent

MOULTRIE, GA – Donald Jerome Kent, 83, of Moultrie, passed away Monday, January 30, 2023, at Pruitt Health-Sunrise.

The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.

Born September 8, 1939, in Moultrie, Georgia, he was the son of the late Joe Thomas Kent and Evelyn Ilene Hood Kent.  Mr. Kent served in the Georgia National Guard and retired as a salesman.   He was a member and former deacon at Oak Grove Baptist Church.  He was a gifted musician who played in the Georgia Boy’s Quartet and was one the founding members.  Mr. Kent shared his love of music with others by playing at funerals and other functions throughout the county.   He was a wonderful, faithful husband and father who loved his family dearly. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Buster Kent.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Carol Saran Earnest Kent of Moultrie; children, Jeffery Thomas Kent and wife Sherry of Moultrie, Christopher Jerome Kent and wife Patricia of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Zachary Kent, Rachel Kent, Amanda Kent; numerous extended family members and friends.
