Doris Wynelle Norman Abbott

Doris Wynelle Norman Abbott, 95, of Moultrie, died Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at her home.

          Graveside rites will be held 11:00AM Saturday, July 4, 2020 at Oakdale Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Voyles and the Rev. Tim Dudding officiating.  Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service and social distancing will be required.

          Casketbearers will be Chad Mims, Franklin Mims, Wayne Thompkins, Donald Wingate, Jeff Abbott and Danny Abbott.  Honorary casketbearers will be the ladies of Oakdale Sunday School Class.

          Born October 15, 1924 in Moultrie, she was the daughter of the late Jeremiah Frank “J.F.” Norman and Willie Francis Singleton Norman.  Mrs. Abbott retired from Swift and Company as an office manager and was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church.

          In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, David Norman, Joe Norman, Jerry Norman and Leon Norman; sisters, Claire N. Pope, Rebecca N. Bailey, Sue N. Owens and Dana N. Fessler.

          Survivors include her husband, Oliphant Larue Abbott of Moultrie; step-children, Melissa A. Roberts and husband Andy, Danny Abbott, Joey Abbott, Jeffery Abbott and wife Jana; ten step-grandchildren and six step- great-grandchildren; seven nieces and eight nephews.

          In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Colquitt Regional Hospice, PO Box 3548, Moultrie, GA 31776.
