Dr. James Willis “Jim” Howard, 80, of Moultrie, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 14, 2022, at Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Julian Griner officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday, October 14, 2022, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
Born August 3, 1942, in Abilene, Texas, he was the son of the late James Willis Howard, Sr. and Ada Lois Smith Howard. Dr. Howard served as Director for the Crime Lab in Moultrie for many years. He was avid collector of coins, books, sport cards and comic books and also enjoyed trout fishing. Jim was a member of First Baptist Church of Moultrie.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Guy Richard Howard and sister, Shirley Ann Howard
Survivors include his loving wife Diane Griffeth Howard of Moultrie; children, James C. Howard of Gainesville, GA, Jeffery W. Howard and Guinevere Redick of Pensacola, FL, and Elizabeth Ann Wynn of Thomasville, GA; grandchildren, Kenny Howard, Eva Marie Howard, Gabe Howard, Hudson Wynn and Julie Ann Wynn; brother and sister-in-law, Wendell and Joan Langford of Acworth, Georgia.
