Elizabeth Harmon Forbes Nichols Taylor

MOULTRIE, GA. – Elizabeth Harmon Forbes Nichols Taylor, 88, of Doerun, passed away Monday, October 21, 2024, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. 

A private family service will be held.

Born October 29, 1935, in Newport News, VA, she was the daughter of the late John Forbes and Jane Jackson Forbes. Mrs. Taylor cherished her family with all her heart. She enjoyed spending time in the sun by her pool or the ocean. Mrs. Taylor worked as a Business Administrator at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for many years and was also a very talented seamstress. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Doerun and did her best to live out her favorite Bible verse, 1 Thessalonians 4:11. Mrs. Taylor ran a good race in her faith and having finished well, now rests in the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ, but she will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Taylor, Jr.; and a sister, Jane McLaughlin.

She is survived by her children, Angie Ivey and husband Jim, and Steve Nichols and wife Libby; grandchildren, Elizabeth Zeigler and husband Michael, Elizabeth Stallings and husband Jonathon, Cole Nichols, and Taylor Ivey; great-grandchildren, Nora Zeigler, Chloe Stallings, Riley Stallings, Bentley Cook, Jacob Nichols, Barrett Ivey and Chase Ivey; sisters, Anne Murray and Susan Burgoyne and husband Doug; along with a number of extended family members and friends. 

Rather than floral tributes, the family requests that memorials be made in her honor to First Baptist Church of Doerun or Paul Anderson Youth Home, PO Box 525, Vidalia, GA 30475.
