Elmer Julius Rayburn, 72, of Hartsfield, passed away on June 18, 2022, at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with Reverend Randall Kennedy officiating. A private interment will follow in Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in the chapel from 1:00-1:45 PM.
Casketbearers will include grandchildren; Jonathan Exum, Ryan Glover, Preston Lamb, Tyson Lamb, Layne Lamb, and Jaime Rayson.
Born December 12, 1949, he was the son of the late Johnnie Webster Rayburn and Cora Juanice Trammell Rayburn. Mr. Rayburn was devoted to our country, as he was a highly decorated US Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War. He was a wonderful musician who enjoyed country music. In addition, a favorite pastime was fishing. Spending time with his family was precious to him. He was a truck driver and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his children, Wayne Bivins of Moultrie, Leanne Ricks and husband Stevie of Hartsfield, LaDonna Douglas and husband Stephen of Jackson, TN, Denise Hood and fiance’ James Hill of Moultrie; grandchildren, Shane Exum, Jonathan Exum, Ryan Glover, Jaime Rayson, Montana Rayson, Preston Lamb, Tyson Lamb, Layne Lamb and Rylee Bryant; ten great-grandchildren; brother, Tommy Rayburn; sisters, Marilyn Bivins Truett and husband Billy, Shirlie Hurst, Deborah Phillips; and a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Barbara Bradley Rayburn; siblings, Coy Rayburn, Martha Fritts, and Alice Wright.
