Annie Lou McCall Purvis

MOULTRIE, GA- Annie Lou McCall Purvis, 91, of Moultrie, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, November 18, 2022, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Barry Watson officiating.  Interment will be in Leila United Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend Mark Jordan officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM on Friday at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Casketbearers will be Brian Lawson, Josh Purvis, Zack Purvis, Sam Whittaker, Jerry Weldon, and Beau Sherman.

Born April 16, 1931, in Abbeville, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Roy McCall and Sara Garner McCall.  Mrs. Purvis was a faithful servant, dedicated to the Lord and her family.  She was a strong prayer warrior, who continuously prayed for her loved ones.   Her personality and intellect were a beacon that drew others to her.  Mrs. Purvis will be greatly missed by all who she encountered.   She was an avid Colquitt County Packers supporter.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tommie Purvis, Sr.; son, Tommy Purvis, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Beth Purvis.

Survivors include her children, Dr. Joan Whittaker and husband, Dr. Bobby of Colquitt, GA, Judy Lawson and husband Dean of Butler, GA, John Purvis and  fiancée Pam Bruening of Micanopy, FL, and Scott Purvis and fiancée Tina Howell of Reynolds, GA; grandchildren, Carol Willingham and husband Jay, Shane Morrell, Sally Ash and husband Chris, Brian Lawson and wife Erin, Sam Whittaker, Zack Purvis, Jo Beth Oliver, Josh Purvis and wife Mandy, Jenny Kurth and husband Cody and Jody Purvis and wife Amber, and Eli Mendoza; great-grandchildren, Anna, Thomas, Aaron, Ava, Aiyana, Hendrix, Landon, Hannah, and Jody Jr; sister, Geraldine Gray; and a number of nieces, nephews and extended family members.
