MOULTRIE, GA- Frances Thompson Maples, 85, of Moultrie, passed away Monday, October 7, 2024, at Pruitt Health-Magnolia Manor.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Pinecrest Memory Gardens with Brother Ricky McLaughlin officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
Born September 18, 1939, in Colquitt County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Raiford J. Thompson and Mary L. Allegood Thompson. Mrs. Maples retired from Riverside Manufacturing Company as a machine operator and was a member of Moultrie Church of God. She loved the Lord, her family dearly, and was the anchor of the family. Mrs. Maples was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, who was a kind-loving soul and always had a smile on her face. Her hobbies were watching western movies and sewing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Dowis.
Survivors include her children, Charles Dowis and wife Sherry, Ricky Dowis and wife Shelia, Donna Brown and husband Marvin, grandchildren, Jennifer Dowis, Eric Dowis and wife Katie, Kimberly Taylor and husband Tony, Jan Blackburn and husband Phillip, Angela Bryant and husband Michael; great-grandchildren, Braydon Howell, Bryce Howell, Chayton Harrell, Eli Dowis, Anna Dowis, Bryce Courtney, Hunter Bryant, Marlee Bryant, Olvia Kennedy, Chloe Kennedy, Audry Kennedy; sister, Kathryn T. Haddock and husband Jimmy; several other extended family members and friends.
Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
