TALLAHASSEE, FL – Gary Mitchell Sheffield, 68, of Tallahassee, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2023.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, February 5, 2023, at Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45PM Sunday at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
Born July 20, 1954, in Moultrie, Georgia, he was the son of the late James Emory Sheffield and Ruby Laura Chaney Sheffield. Mr. Gary retired from Tallahassee Memorial Hospital as a nurse with over 30 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed running cross country and participating in a variety of other sports. Mr. Gary loved being outdoors, especially camping. He will always be remembered as a kindhearted and generous person who was very special to those who knew him.
Survivors include his daughter, Rebecca Miles and husband Eric of Toccoa, GA; life partner, Robert Richard Rains of Tallahassee, FL; granddaughter, Cora Christina Ann Miles; numerous family members and friends.
