Gerald Dean Bledsoe, 83, of Moultrie, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2021, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Charlie Tucker officiating. A private interment will be at Westview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 AM Wednesday at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
Casketbearers will be Jimmy Revell, John Beverly, John Bolin, Danny Jordan, Ricky Weeks and Charlie Bell.
Born July 5, 1938, in Irwin County, Georgia, he was the son of the late Herbert Lynwood Bledsoe and Ella D. Priest Bledsoe Causey. Mr. Bledsoe retired from Winn Dixie as a supervisor and was a deacon and member of Rose of Sharon Baptist Church. He was a devout Christian man who loved God, his family and his church family. Mr. Bledsoe enjoyed being outdoors gardening, fishing and hunting, and playing golf. He liked watching Colquitt County Packer football games and old westerns on TV.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Vaughn Bledsoe; brother, James Herbert Bledsoe.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Lydia Maurene Stephens Bledsoe of Moultrie; children, Pam Bledsoe Barrow and husband Steve of Tifton, Ricky Dean Bledsoe of Moultrie; grandchildren, Lauren Peters and husband Chris, Lindsey Barrow; great-grandchildren, Cohen Barrow, Cannon Peters and Cash Peters.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Rose of Sharon Baptist Church General Fund, 231 Sam Sells Road, Doerun, GA. 31744.
