Gerald Agee Shields

Gerald Agee Shields, 80, of Moultrie, died Friday, December 4, 2020 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

          A memorial service will be held at a later date in Thomaston Alabama.

          Born August 22, 1940 in Thomaston, AL, he was the son of the late Herbert Joseph Shields and Eva Anderson Shields.  Mr. Shields was a retired as a First Class Petty Officer serving 20 years in the United States Navy.  He loved his family, was very generous, enjoyed going hunting and fishing.  Mr. Shields loved to tell stories, had a great sense of humor and was excellent at keeping promises.

          In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Boyd Shields; sister, Carolyn Marlen; brother, William Joseph Shields.

          Survivors include his sisters, Lois Diadone of Birmingham, AL, Eunice Hunt of Pelham, AL, Mildred Gates of Grove Hill, AL; brothers, Robert Shields and wife Sallie of Jackson, AL, Ron Shields and wife Debbie of Moultrie.
