Gladys Boyd Crosby

Mary Gladys Boyd Crosby, 87, of Moultrie, passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at her home.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, September 3, 2021, at Wesley Chapel with the Reverend Frank Danner and the Hospice Chaplin, Reverend Terry Sinard officiating.   The family will greet friends after the service. 

Born March 31, 1934, in Poulan, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Carlie Ferris Boyd and Mary Mozelle Walden Boyd.  Mrs. Gladys was married to the late H.R. Crosby for 66 years and homemaker for her entire life.  In that time, they raised six children.   She devoted her life to raising her children and maintaining her household.  Through the years, Gladys provided numerous meals and delicious pound cakes for many occasions.  She showed her love and kindness for other with her food.  She was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women and had also been apart of the Cotton Wives.  Gladys was a blessing to all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Robinson “H.R.” Crosby; grandson, Skyler Lee Crosby.

Survivors include her children, Sherdon Jackson and husband Stewart, Verlyn Hart and husband Randall, Donna Lipsey and husband Johnny, Renee’ Varnadoe, Andree’ Gay, Tim Crosby and wife Marisa; grandchildren, Nicole Jackson, Pamela Ferguson and husband Stacey, Ashley Hart, Brandon Robinson Crosby, Garrison Lewis Gay, Jake Varnadoe, Jon Ellis Varnadoe, Sam Varnadoe; great-grandchildren, Kensi Ferguson, Hunter Ferguson; sisters, Nadine Robinson, Frances Gay both of Pavo, Emma Lou Carter of Moultrie, Darlene Robinson and husband Wavell of Pavo; niece, Teresa Miskell; caregiver, Diane Paulk and other family members.
