Gloria Singletary Simpson

Gloria Singletary Simpson, 68, of Hartsfield, died Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Archbold Medical Center.

          Funeral service will be held 2:00PM Sunday, January 19, 2020 at Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Deans and the Rev. Terry Webb officiating.  Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.

          The family will receive friends from 6:00PM-8:00PM Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

          Casketbeareres will be Abel Eubanks, Shane Slocumb, Jim Hancock, Ben Clayton, Ryne Barfield, John Presley and Josh Webb.

          Born January 10, 1952 in Moultrie, she was the daughter of the late J. W. Singletary and Juanita Pope Singletary.  Mrs. Simpson was a homemaker, member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and a paraprofessional at Hamilton School.  Mrs. Simpson was an extended “Mom” to a number of children and loved her “shotgun kids”.

          In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Johnny Singletary; sister, Judy Allen.

          Survivors include her husband, Mike Simpson of Hartsfield; children, Laurie Ann Pitts and Lofton of Register GA, Michelle Wright and Stacey of Ochlocknee GA, Emma Moore and Josh of Leesburg GA; grandchildren, Quinn Pitts, Hattie Pitts, Gable Pitts, Garner Pitts, Brooke Wright, Logan Wright and Zoey Moore; sister, Patricia Manning of Hartsfield; several nieces and nephews and other family members.

          Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart and Kidney Research Foundation.
