Moultrie, GA - Moultrie, GA - Harvey Bunn Vereen, 79, of Moultrie, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 18, 2025, at South Georgia Medical Center, Valdosta, Georgia.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 AM, Thursday, at the church.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at First Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Hugh Ward officiating.

Born on August 11, 1945, in Moultrie, Georgia, he was the son of the late William Coachman Vereen, Jr. and Mary Elizabeth Bunn Vereen.

He attended Moultrie High School and graduated from Culver Military Academy. He received a Bachelor of Science in Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology. A member of the US Navy, he faithfully served aboard the USS Saratoga during the Vietnam War.

Following his miliary service, he began a 45-year career with Riverside Manufacturing, holding the positions of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, as well as serving on the Board of Directors.

He served four terms on the Board of the Moultrie-Colquitt County Chamber of Commerce, the Board of Directors of United Way, Georgia Textile Manufacturers, was Past President of Southeastern Textile and Apparel Manufacturers Association and served as the Chairman of the Moultrie Community Trust for many years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Bunn Vereen and a grandson, Sebastian Coffey.

Survivors include his children, Harvey Scott Vereen, Hunter Ray Vereen (Karolina) and Heather Elizabeth Vereen (Scott David); grandchildren, William Tanner Vereen (Rae), Hannah Nicole Vereen Cato (Judd), Cameron Harvey Vereen, Logan Scott Vereen, Declan Hunter Vereen, Chase Webb Vereen and Oliver Coffey; great-grandchildren, Brewer Moore Vereen and Jette Vereen Cato; brother, William Jerome Vereen; niece, Lisa Vereen Zeanah (David); nephew, Will Vereen (Anne); as well as other extended family. He is also survived by his faithful canine companion, Toby.

Memorial contributions may be made to either First Presbyterian Church or the Colquitt County Humane Society.

Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
