Hope Eakins Saladin

February 25, 1943 — September 4, 2022

MOULTRIE, GA – Mildred Hope Eakins Saladin, 79, of Moultrie, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2022, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 8, 2022, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Alfonso Gutierrez officiating.  Interment will follow in Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Trey Eakins officiating.  

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Casketbearers will be Michael Burdette, Ethan Hathcock, Mack Hathcock, and Tucker Hathcock.  Honorary Casketbearers will be Steven Ford, Cameron Taylor, Jared Peek, and Brandon Johnson. 

Born February 25, 1943, in Moultrie, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late John Felix Eakins and Mildred Leon Draffin Eakins.  Mrs. Saladin was a homemaker and a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.  She was a very generous woman who was selflessly devoted to her entire family and countless others. Above all else, Mrs. Saladin wholeheartedly loved and cherished her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Captain Gerald Charles Saladin.

Survivors include her children, Debbie Saladin Hathcock of Moultrie, Michelle Saladin Burdette of Berlin, Amy Saladin Ford and husband Steven of Sylvester; grandchildren, Michael Burdette, Whitney Taylor and husband Cameron, Amber Peek and husband Jared, Elizabeth Johnson and husband Brandon, Ethan Hathcock and wife Alexus, Mack Hathcock and wife Mallory, Tucker Hathcock, Chloe Ford, and Bailey Ford; great-grandchildren, Payton Jones, Natalie Peek, Braxton Taylor, Austin Peek, Lillian Hope Johnson, Haygen Hathcock, Flint Taylor, Waylon Johnson, and Wilder Hathcock; brother, John E. Eakins, Jr. and wife Debbie; several beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends; special caregivers, Charmaine Triplett and Melody Mallard.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Georgia Chapter, 225 East 2nd Street (Tift Ave), Tifton, GA. 31794.
