Irvin Edward Allegood

Irvin Edward Allegood, 67, of Moultrie, died Thursday, October 1, 2020 at the Willson Hospice House in Albany.

          A private memorial service will be held at 4:00PM, Monday, October 12, 2020 at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Chuck Scarborough officiating.

          Born December 14, 1952, in Moultrie, he was the son of the late WJ Allegood and Annie Bell Hunt Allegood.  Mr. Allegood worked 47 years in the telecommunications industry at GTE, Alltel, Windstream and retired from Verizon as a data transport engineer.  He was of the Baptist faith and was a vintage car enthusiast.  Mr. Allegood was well known for his sense of humor and enjoyment of life.

          In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ellieque Allegood; sister, Laverne Willingham; mother-in-law, Martha L. Miller.

          Survivors include his wife, Lisa Kim Miller Allegood of Moultrie; daughter, Kasey Benton of Moultrie; grandchildren, Sarah Castanon, Michael Benton; great-grandchild, John Castanon; sisters, Sadie Sellers of Moultrie, Geraldine Luff and husband Gary of Moultrie.
