J. W. John Wiliam O'Kelley

NORMAN PARK, GA - John W. O’Kelley, “J.W.”, 92, of Norman Park died Sunday, October 2, 2022, at home surrounded by his family.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Marlon Daniels officiating. 

The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:00 PM on Tuesday at Hopewell cemetery.

Born at home in Colquitt County on February 8, 1930, he was the son of Hubert and Ollie Goble O’Kelley.  J.W. retired from Variety Vending.  He loved to garden and share his vegetables with his neighbors and family.  His favorite past time was to fish at local ponds.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Evelyn McCullers O’Kelley; daughters, Debbie Griffin and Michele Fulgham; grandchildren, Stacey Y. Griffin and Mark Fulgham; a sister, Helen (James) Dalton; and two brothers, Wilburn (Grace) O’Kelley and Charles B. (Sallie Mae) O’Kelley.

Survivors include his children, Denise Thomas and husband Darrell of Jacksonville, Florida; John A. O’Kelley of Olive Springs, Tennessee, and Theresa Taylor and husband Horace of Norman Park; 21 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 18 great-great grandchildren; a brother, James A. O’Kelley and wife, Ruby of Moultrie.
