James B. Butler, Jr.

MOULTRIE, GA- James B. Butler, Jr, 88, of Moultrie passed away Friday, May 3, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his family. 

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, May 6, 2024, at Westview Cemetery with the Reverend Charlie Tucker officiating.   The family will greet friends after the service at Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens. 

Born December 19, 1935, in Topeka, Kansas, he was the son of the late James B. Butler, Sr and Cherice Craig Butler.   Mr. Butler was proud Air Force Veteran who served his country honorably for over 22 years.  His patriotism was reflected in his hobby of restoring military vehicles that he displayed in parades and other events.  Mr. Butler served as President of the Military Vehicles Association and was a firm believer in the 2^nd amendment rights.  He was a member of the Methodist faith. 

Survivors include his beloved wife, Eleanor Jane Isom Butler; children, James Butler, William Butler and wife Bonnie and Sharon Durrence and husband Jerry; grandchildren, Andrew Durrence, January Handy and Christopher Durrence; 8 great-grandchildren; his sister, Judy DeMott; and number of good friends and fellow patriots.
