James Caroll Sheffield

MOULTRIE, GA – James Caroll Sheffield, 74, of Moultrie, passed away Friday, December 20, 2024, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens. 

The family will receive friends after the service.

Born August 10, 1950, at Vereen Memorial Hospital in Moultrie, he was the son of the late James E. Sheffield and Ruby Janey Sheffield. Mr. Sheffield was a very intelligent and organized man. He had a giving heart and would help others whenever he could. Mr. Sheffield enjoyed woodworking in his spare time and liked to build things around the house. He loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Sheffield enjoyed talking with other people and would tell the “ball story” to everyone who came over. He was Christian and will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandsons, Dylan Ferguson and Brett Ferguson, and a brother, Gary M. Sheffield.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Sanda K. Sheffield; children, Christopher Sheffield and wife Liz, David Sheffield, David Ferguson and wife Juli, Jay Ferguson and wife Kathy, John Ferguson and wife Janet, and T.J. Comer; 14 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and other extended family members and friends.
