James "Dinky" William Denham

James William “Dinky” Denham, 77, of Moultrie, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

          Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Cobb Funeral Chapel with Mr. Jack Adams and the Rev. Mark Herrington.  Interment, with military honors, will follow in Hempstead Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Cobb Funeral Chapel.   Social distancing guidelines will be followed, and masks are recommended.

          Casketbearers will be Austin Thomas, Will Denham, Brett McElrath, A.J. McDonald, Matthew Denham and Jim Sims.

          Born December 30, 1943 in Moultrie, he was the son of the late Emmett James Denham and Velma Herrington Denham.   Mr. Denham retired from the Iron Workers Local Union 387 in Atlanta and a United States Air Force Veteran.  He loved his family, being outdoors on his farm.  Mr. Denham enjoyed his coffee and attending the oval office club at Chick-Fil-A every morning.

          In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Sandy Denham.

          Survivors include his wife, Lynda Erskine Denham of Moultrie; children, Leslie McElrath and husband Gordon of Valdosta, Jamie Denham and wife Tricia of Albany, Marcy Denham, Jessica McCall and husband Juston all of Moultrie; grandchildren, Emily Denham and fiancé A.J. McDonald, Kristen Hawes and husband Billy, Will Denham, Haley Denham, Austin Thomas, Annah Lokey, Brett McElrath and wife Ashley, Matthew Denham, Alexis McCall, Nicholas McCall; great-grandchildren, Hadley Rae Hawes, Alana Grace McDonald and Brooks McElrath.
