James Herman Kent

James Herman Kent, 74, of Norman Park, passed away Monday, January 4, 2021 at his home.

          A memorial service will be held at a later date.

          Born December 31, 1946 in Moultrie, he was the son of the late William “Bill” Floyd Kent and Evelyn Helen Cannon Kent.  Mr. Kent was a mechanic at Kent Garage and was of the Baptist faith.  He enjoyed fishing, bog-in, working on racecars.  Mr. Kent was an excellent mechanic and could fix anything.

          In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William “Billy” Floyd Kent, Jr.

          Survivors include his daughter, Melinda Faye Kent of Ivey, GA; brothers, Darrell Kent of Moultrie, Jake Kent and wife Barbara of Berlin, GA; sisters, Glenda Apperson and husband Ken of Norman Park, GA, Brenda Chalkley and husband Jim of Moultrie, Marilyn Kent of Norman Park, GA; sister-in-law, Sue Kent of Moultrie; grandchildren, James Tyler Cobb, Dillion Roberts and wife Jenni, Kaitlyn Roberts; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and other family members.
