MOULTRIE, GA – James Glenn Loy, 78, of Moultrie, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at his home. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with Mr. Jason Woods officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, April 14, 2023, at Cobb Funeral Chapel. Born December 21, 1944, in Findlay Ohio. He was the son of the late Lester J. Joy and Helen Wolery Loy. He graduated from Findlay Senior High School and attended Findlay College. After serving our country in the United States Air Force from 1963-1967, he returned home and married his high school sweetheart, Kathleen Woods, and they were married for 55 years. James moved from Ohio to Moultrie, in 1981 and was employed in the aluminum can producing industry for over 25 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, tending to his garden, and telling fascinating stories. James had a passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles. He and his beloved wife enjoyed traveling many miles on their motorcycle. One of his greatest honors was participating and being a member of the American Legion, Patriot Guard Riders. James was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and loved his family dearly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded death by his siblings, Lester Jerry Loy, Luther Robert Loy, Frank Loy, and Nancy Loy. Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Woods Loy of Moultrie; children, Dr. David Paul Loy and wife Bet of Greenville, NC, Debra Loy Lasseter and husband Steven of Thomasville, GA, Jennifer Loy Riordan and husband Kevin of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Daniel Baker, Dara Baker Marchant and husband Justin, Collin Loy and wife Cameron, Nicholas Loy, Diana Beason; great-granddaughter, Emily Marchant; sister-in-law, Anne Woods Riker, several nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.
