James Alvin Peacock

MOULTRIE, GA- James Alvin Peacock, 85, of Moultrie, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at Pruitt Health-Sunrise.

A private graveside service will be held in Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens.

Born April 11, 1937, in Moultrie, Georgia, he was the son of the late John Henry Peacock and Mattie Sue Gibson Peacock.  Mr. James was a United States Navy Veteran and the owner of Peacock Automotive Service.  He was of the Baptist faith.  Mr. James loved Virginia, his wife of 65 years, with all his heart.  He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with each one of his children and grandchildren.   He was the rock that held the family together and will be truly missed by all.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife and the love of his life, Virginia Bivins Peacock; siblings, Robert Peacock, Lamar Peacock, Virginia Peacock Ricks, Jackie Peacock Pope.

Survivors include his daughters, Susan Gibbs and husband Tommy, Carol Bannister and husband Chuck; son, Buddy Peacock and wife Brenda all of Moultrie; grandchildren, Josh Gibbs and wife Crystal, Laura Hill Bannister, Will Bannister; great-grandchild, Elijah Gibbs; sister, Janie Peacock Rhodes of Moultrie; caregivers, Gwen Mack, Kathy Thompson; several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
