James "Ray" Jones, Jr.

MOULTRIE, GA – James “Ray” Jones, Jr., 91, of Moultrie, passed away, Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Jackie Cabaniss officiating.  Interment will be in Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 1-1:45PM Thursday at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Casketbeareres will be Craig Perryman, James Horne, Gregg Hersey, Johnny Hardin, Scotty Cooper, Mark Wills, Chance Pitts, Cole Pitts, Brad Eunice, and Chad Eunice.

The family will receive friends from 1-1:45PM Thursday at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Born October 26, 1931, in Moultrie, Georgia, he was the son of the late James Ray Jones, Sr. and Inez Fuller Jones.  Mr. Ray was a United States Air Force Veteran and retired from Lance Crackers as a salesman.  He was a wonderful, caring husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.   Mr. Ray was a member of Kingwood Baptist Church an avid Colquitt County Packer fan.  He always loved talking on the phone and enjoyed being around people.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by the love of his life, Loyce Sanders Jones; son, James Ray “Rocky” Jones, III.

Survivors include his daughter, Jennifer Kelly and Randy of Moultrie; grandchildren, Wendy Horne and Clint, April Kelly Powell; great-grandchildren, Hogan Horne, Lyla Horne, Ella Ray Powell.
