James Ronald Moncrief

James Ronald “Ronnie” Moncrief, 77, of Thomasville, formerly of Moultrie, passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at his home.

          Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 12, 2021, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with Dalton L. Bynum and John Joyner officiating.  Interment will follow in Murphy Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at Cobb Funeral Chapel.  

          Casketbearers will be Alex Singletary, Michael Howard, Austin Moncrief, Brentson Moncrief, Brayden Melton, Tony Bodiford, Bruce Bynum, Lamar Bynum and Hamilton Singletary.

          Born April 29, 1944, in Colquitt County, Georgia, he was the son of the late Clifford Donald Moncrief, Sr. and Odell Kinnard Moncrief.   Mr. Moncrief was a self-employed mechanic and was a member of New Neward Baptist Church in Thomasville.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, a hard worker, and a wonderful provider for his family.  Mr. Moncrief enjoyed spending his time outdoors farming, hunting and fishing.   He was a former Colquitt County Packer player and remained an avid fan.  He was a good man and always kept his word.  

          In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Clifford Donald Moncrief, Jr.

          Survivors include his wife, Rachel Louise Joyner Moncrief of Thomasville; children, Rachel Kelly Bynum and husband Lamar, Ronald Chuck Moncrief and wife Rosie all of Thomasville, Monty Lynn Cooley and husband Nic of Tallahassee; grandchildren, India Alexis Singletary and husband Alex, Dalton Lamar Bynum, Christain Savannah Melton and fiancé Michael Howard, James Austin Moncrief, Ronald Brentson Moncrief, Brayden Zachary Melton, Meghan Rose Moncrief and Kaiden Michael Howard; great-grandchild, Hamilton James Singletary; sister, Phyllis Bryant of Statesville, NC.; several nieces, nephews and other family members.
