James Talmadge Weldon, 69, of Moultrie passed away Monday, September 7, 2020 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Graveside services will be held 11:00AM Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens with Pastor Corey Shiver officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the graveside. Social distancing guidelines will be followed, and masks are recommended.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Hiers, Howie Gray, Jeremy Gray, Michael Horne, Chris Summerlin and Marty Brightwell.
Honorary pallbearer will be Wayne Williams.
Mr. Weldon was born February 5, 1951 in Colquitt County the son of Grace Blackburn Weldon of Moultrie and the late Talmadge Weldon. He retired in 2013 from the maintenance department with the Colquitt County School System. Mr. Weldon graduated from Colquitt County High School class of 1969 and from Technical school in 1970 with a degree in Heating and Air Conditioning. He was a member of Christian Life Center. He loved his family especially his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed working on his 1970 Chevelle, loved Nascar, any kind of racing and tinkering with things.
In addition to his mother survivors include his wife Carol Cooper Weldon of Moultrie; children Kimberly Ricks and husband Tim of Moultrie and Michael Thompson and wife Courtney of Moultrie; grandchildren Nyla Thompson, Nolie Thompson, Bay Ricks and Bowen Ricks; brother Randel Weldon and wife Carol of Moultrie; sister Diane Horne and husband Don of Doerun; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
