Janice Irene Young Granger

MOULTRIE, GA – Janice Irene Young Granger, 84, of Moultrie, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2022, at home surrounded by her family. A memorial service will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at Moultrie Church of God with the Reverends Dan Tomberlin and Ricky McLaughlin officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 -10:00 at Moultrie Church of God. Born December 30, 1937, in Cocoa, Florida, she was the daughter of the late John Christopher Young and Alice Farnsworth Meriwether (Grandma Cookie). Mrs. Granger was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-mother and sister who dearly loved her family. She enjoyed shopping, crocheting, playing card games and working in her garden. Mrs. Granger had a servant’s heart and was a very forgiving person who didn’t allow any troubles to steal her joy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William LeRoy Granger; her sisters, Harriett Bush, Bonnie Granger, Martha Branning and Mary Hutchinson. Survivors include her children, Raymond J. Nunes, Michael D. Nunes, both of Moultrie, Steven C. Nunes of San Diego, CA, Anthony L. Nunes, Sr and wife Vanessa of Moultrie, John C. Nunes and wife Pamela of Hazlehurst and George W. Nunes and wife Karen of Valdosta; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
